LA CROSSE, Wis. (WEAU) - La Crosse Distilling Company has announced the inaugural release of barrel aged gin. The gin is made using up-cycling barrels, which are better for the environment.

This is helpful because a lot of bourbon barrels are just used one time to age bourbon. So being able to recycle and upcycle the barrels to age the barrel aged and gives it, you know, just another purpose and allows for us to be a little bit more sustainable and creative in the ways that we produce new products,” says La Crosse Distilling Company marketing director Angela Weber...

β€œIt’s just a great choice for people in this area to support local business and also support businesses that are trying to be more sustainable and create a smaller geo footprint,” says Weber.

...The distillery will be bottling the barrel aged gin sometime early next week. The distillery will be releasing 100 bottles of its new barrel aged gin on February 24.
