John Muir exhibit to make Sun Prairie stop


The Wisconsin Historical Society will be taking a new exhibit about environmentalist John Muir titled, “Wisconsin’s John Muir” on the road.

It will be stopping at 25 local public libraries and historical societies around the state -- including the Sun Prairie Public Library -- and will stay in each community for two weeks.

The Sun Prairie Public Library, 1350 Linnerud Drive, will host the exhibit Tuesday, May 24 - Tuesday, June 7. The exhibit is free and open to the public.

“The exhibit reproduces rare books, photographs, and manuscripts from the Society's collections in Madison,” said Michael Edmonds, deputy director of library and archives at the Wisconsin Historical Society. “Its eight panels explore Muir's youth in Wisconsin, the national parks movement, and Muir's views on environmental issues such as logging, hunting, and climate change.”...
