Wisconsin bill would relax fish farm regulations


MILWAUKEE — A Republican-sponsored bill would relax regulations on Wisconsin's fish farming industry, but conservationists say the bill is a surprise that threatens to harm public waterways.

The bill addresses digging, dredging and repair work in and around rivers and streams. Currently, fish farm owners are required to get Department of Natural Resources approval in many cases for such work.

Ken Notes: We are seeing a lot of lobby driven bills moving forward right now because the balance is lacking to check out the details. The only solution I see is for this is better communication and businesses weighing in....
