The 2016 election was challenging and divisive between the Republican and Democratic parties in several different ways. However, Collin O`Mara, president and CEO of the National Wildlife Federation, said restoring our wildlife and America`s natural resources has the potential to unite both major political parties.

"I think that if you look at the campaign rhetoric on both sides, there`s obviously big differences on regulatory approaches," he said. "How you see the language around climate cannot be more stark between the campaigns, but one area they both talked about with some common language was around our public land, our natural resources, the need to get people outdoors."
