Bicyclists and others using the Glacial Drumlin Trail will soon be able to travel from Cottage Grove to Madison without having to use Highway BB or other roadways. “Soon” in this case is three or four years away, but considering it’s already been in the plans of government officials for 20 years, waiting until 2020 seems like a walk in the park.
Dane County Executive Joe Parisi included $130,000 in his 2017 budget for the 6-mile trail segment, along with money for an additional park planner position to manage this and other trail projects. The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is contributing $60,000 for the project design.
