Statewide Effort Needed for Clean Power Plan


Keith Reopelle, senior policy director for the environmental advocacy organization Clean Wisconsin, will be the featured speaker at the Climate Change Coalition of Door County’s October program on Oct. 5 at 10341 Water St., Ephraim (the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship). The program begins at 7 pm, and is free and open to the public.

Reopelle’s talk, “Developing a Clean Power Plan — A Major Climate Change Opportunity for Wisconsin,” will address the US EPA’s Clean Power Plan, how Wisconsin can meet the CPP’s objectives, and statewide efforts to move Wisconsin toward clean power. Though the state has joined others in suing to block the Clean Power Plan, Reopelle argues that Wisconsin should move forward expeditiously to capture the benefits of a cleaner energy system — with or without the national CPP.
