My last time on a stand-up paddle board, I went about 50 feet, fell in the lake and called it quits. Jesse Hieb, much more impressively, is cruising the Wisconsin River from beginning to end on a paddle board loaded down with 70 pounds of food, camping gear and photography equipment in waterproof cases held in place with bungee cords. The 30-year-old Milwaukee man has been at it for 16 days now, and expects to paddle the last of the 430 miles later this week when he glides into Wyalusing State Park, where the Wisconsin joins the Mississippi River. ...more | ||
