City of Spooner moves forward on solar project

SPOONER - The city of Spooner is developing a purchase agreement for the construction of a solar installation that will generate power for a portion the city’s utility electrical needs. The Spooner City Council approved developing the power purchase agreement during its regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 6.

“We will save between a half a million and a million dollars in energy costs over the life of the project,” said Bill Marx, city administrator.
