RENEW Wisconsin wins 2016 Regulatory Champion of the Year award

RENEW Wisconsin, the Madison advocacy group for renewable energy, is one of five winners of the national 2016 Regulatory Champion of the Year awards, honored by the Interstate Renewable Energy Council.

RENEW was praised for fighting a proposal by We Energies, of Milwaukee, in 2014 to charge extra fees to customers who generated their own power. The fees would have added about $20 a month to the bills of solar-equipped homes and thousands more a month for farmers with power generated from cow manure, the Madison organization said....
