It says so on the DNR’s website.
But a recent ruling relaxing regulation of high-capacity wells, and a new audit that documents the DNR’s failure to act against excessive polluters, raise serious questions about the state’s desire or ability to do anything about water problems in Wisconsin.
While you won’t find too many high-capacity wells in western Wisconsin, there’s plenty of cause for concern.
