Wisconsin Power Provider Seeks 100 MW Of Renewable Energy


Sun Prairie, Wis.-based WPPI Energy has issued a request for proposals (RFP) for approximately 100 MW of renewable energy. Although the company specifically mentions wind power in its announcement, it notes it would also consider an equivalent amount of energy from other renewable resources.

WPPI Energy is a member-owned power supplier to 51 locally owned, not-for-profit electric utilities. Together, these public power utilities serve more than 200,000 homes and businesses in Wisconsin, Upper Michigan and Iowa. Ken Notes: This is interesting, with no political pressure who are the power companies responding to. I suggest businesses are on board looking for long term stability in the marketplace. They could clearly pressure utilities to abandon searches for greener power because these companies must ultimately respond to their stock holders. Hmmmmm I may not be as dumb as I thought and clearly not as dumb as many of our elected officials...
