Sustainable Leadership Award

The Wisconsin Sustainable Business Council awarded Evergreen Credit Union president/CEO Mike Brandt with the Sustainable Leadership Award. In 2015, ECU exceeded it`s sustainability goals in four focus areas, including zero-waste operations, reduced water use, energy self-sufficiency and reduced carbon footprint. The credit union`s sustainable practices include recycling and on-site composting. ECU also donates money to plant a tree for every new member and loan. ECU has already donated enough money to plant more than 5,000 trees. The credit union also installed solar panels on its building to reduce its carbon footprint and cut energy costs. The Wisconsin Sustainable Business Council`s Earth Day Sustainable Business Awards are designed to honor businesses for their leadership in developing sustainable products and processes, and to honor business leaders who provide valuable services to the business community.   ...more
