The candidates for U.S. president are making the rounds, asking for your vote and your financial support.

You've got nearly nine months to act on your preferences in that race.

An opportunity to cast a ballot on issues affecting the Wisconsin conservation world is closer at hand.

The 2016 Department of Natural Resources annual spring fish and wildlife hearings and Wisconsin Conservation Congress spring conservation meetings will be held April 11 in each county. The Natural Resources Board approved this year's questions at its Jan. 27 meeting.

I won't try to tell you how to arrange your priorities.

But I will say I've always valued the annual opportunity to gather in the Badger State with people of like and differing minds to discuss and vote on a wide range of issues related to hunting, fishing, the environment and resource management.
